About the Event
Twice a month, join Overton Park Conservancy staff and fellow bird enthusiasts for a relaxed, beginner-friendly bird walk through the Old Forest. Experience the charm of local and migratory birds in one of Memphis’s richest natural habitats.
When & Where
- Dates: Second Friday & Fourth Saturday | September - November
- Time: 8:00 AM
- Location: Meet at East Parkway Pavilion (389 E Parkway N)
- Surfaces: Roads + limestone gravel loop, with potential for natural trails depending on group preference
- Weather note: Walks are canceled in case of rain or high winds—check the Events Calendar for updates

What to Bring
- Binoculars: Bring your own or borrow a pair from us
- Birding app: We recommend downloading the free Merlin Bird ID app for extra fun
- No dogs, please: To avoid disturbing the birds, we kindly ask that dogs stay home for this walk. Leashed dogs are welcome on our Wednesday Walks!
