City Council accepts funds; Greensward design process to follow

Greensward bubble ballMemphis City Council voted yesterday to accept $250,000 each from Overton Park Conservancy and the Memphis Zoo, clearing the way for the City to sign a contract with Powers Hill Design. This means that the Greensward project design should kick off soon. We’ll be providing updates as they happen, and we hope to hear from you all during the public engagement phase!

In the meantime, the million dollars raised during the two-month campaign will be held by Overton Park Conservancy. We’ll pay the City as Powers Hill invoices them for various phases of the project. The City will then invoice the Zoo and the Conservancy for those costs. Our first invoice will be for $250,000 for design, and we will subsequently be invoiced for construction as it gets underway.
