Memphis in Perspective: Architectural Perspective Workshop

September 27 @ 1:30 pm 3:30 pm CDT

Discover the art of perspective drawing in this hands-on workshop focused on capturing the architectural beauty of the iconic Memphis Hernando de Soto or ‘M’ Bridge. Students will learn the fundamentals of one- and two-point perspective, using pencils and rulers to sketch the building’s form, depth, and proportions with accuracy. Through guided instruction, participants will develop a strong understanding of how perspective enhances architectural drawing. Once the foundational sketches are complete, the class will transition to adding vibrant watercolor washes, bringing each piece to life with color and atmosphere. Perfect for beginners and intermediate artists alike, this workshop combines technical skill with creative expression in a dynamic exploration of urban sketching. Please note that this workshop is intended for adult participants only. For kid-friendly art making, please see our Family Programs page.

The museum and all its programs are made possible by the generous support of museum members. Members enjoy free daily admission to Memphis Brooks Museum of Art and receive discounts of up to 50% on ticketed events. Join today at thebrooks.org/join
