Art as Activism Teacher Workshop

September 4 @ 4:30 pm 6:30 pm CDT

Inspired by the work of Charles White, this teacher workshop focuses on examining themes of resistance and the human condition in the work of various artists. Teachers will be guided to create a work of art that shows resilience in the face of adversity.  The workshop blends guided instruction with open experimentation, set against the backdrop of the Brooks’ inspiring galleries. Following the workshop, teachers will be given admittance to a concert by beloved singer, teacher, and Memphis legend Joyce Cobb.

Connect with fellow art enthusiasts and dive into a relaxed, creative atmosphere. All materials are provided, so just bring your curiosity and a readiness to reimagine everyday tools. After the session, explore the museum’s current exhibitions or grab a coffee at the café to keep the inspiration flowing. Ready to make your mark? Secure your free spot today—spaces are limited for this event at the Brooks’ iconic 1934 Poplar Avenue location www.brooksmuseum.org. Let’s turn blank pages into stories together!
