Autumn Palette: Exploring Nature through Art and Observation

Join the Overton Park Conservancy and Memphis Artist Susan Maakestad for a month of wonder during our four-week Senior Nature Journaling workshop this fall!

Course Highlights:

  • Kick-off Session: Start with an engaging indoor session to introduce concepts and techniques.
  • Outdoor Exploration: For the next three weeks, we’ll venture into the Old Forest and other green spaces within Overton Park.
  • Combine Art and Science: Gain a deeper appreciation for native plants and animals as you merge artistic expression with scientific observation.

All participants will receive paper and recording supplies such as pencils, watercolors, and colored pencils. Participants are welcome to bring their own favorite notebooks and journaling tools!
