Parking lot construction update

This week, you may notice more activity on the Zoo’s Prentiss Place lot adjacent to McLean. Starting today, crews will begin trimming trees that will eventually be removed, as required by the construction plans. For the trees that will remain, tree protection will be put in place in order to prevent any damage to limbs and roots during construction. Additional erosion control and storm drainage work will also be assessed.

During construction, Prentiss Place will be mostly open to two-way vehicular traffic, but sidewalks are not accessible. Pedestrians should use Autumn Ave. for safety reasons. Representatives from Memphis Zoo, Overton Park Conservancy, and Overton Park Alliance are available to answer any questions you may have. Regular updates will be provided throughout the project.
