Thanks to all the volunteers who came out to beautify Overton Park as part of today`s #MLKDayofService! We cleaned up the full limestone running loop and spread lots of fresh surfacing. We appreciate Sam Blair of Park Friends for lending his expertise and tools, @volunteerodyssey for spreading the word, and our friend @industrialcates for driving the Cushman like a champ. Happy running! ...
🌿 Who`s ready for a Weed Wrangle? 🌿 Every Saturday this January and February, join volunteer leader Bill Bullock and his team of invasive plant removal experts to help improve the ecological health of Overton Park`s Old Forest. We`ll meet at East Parkway Pavilion from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, learn which non-native plants are outcompeting our native species, and work together to remove them. Wear close-toed shoes and bring a water bottle, and we`ll provide the gloves and tools! Reach out to info @ overtonpark.org if you have any questions!
