Original artwork of Overton Park’s birds throughout the seasons
by Julia Weil of Meadowlark Studios
With our annual offering of exclusive notecards featuring local wildlife, you can send your loved ones the joy of Overton Park all year long. This year’s cards are four original paintings from Memphis artist Julia Weil, inspired by Overton Park. The set includes a pair of Northern cardinals perched on the branches of a tulip poplar, the Mississippi kites that soar above the Greensward all summer long, a yellow-billed cuckoo getting ready to migrate south, and a pair of white-throated sparrows singing amongst winter berries.
Perfect as a holiday gift or your own use year-round, these special cards are only available through Overton Park Conservancy.
Notecards are available in 12-packs for $36 per pack, plus a flat $6 shipping fee per order. (Shipping is reflected in each order amount below.) Each pack has three copies of each of the four designs. Cards have a linen texture, fold to 5×7, are blank inside, and come with envelopes.
75% of your purchase price is a tax-deductible contribution to Overton Park Conservancy. You will receive a tax letter along with your cards. We’ll mail your package in late November!
About the artist: Julia Weil is a third-year PhD student in the University of Memphis’s Biological Sciences department. Her lab group studies House Finches and their bacterial pathogen which causes conjunctivitis. Julia’s specific research is about the relationship between House Finch personalities and pathogen transmission (think superspreader finches!). Beyond this, Julia has been an avid birder for the past 9 years and enjoys drawing birds as a hobby. To see more of her artwork, birds and beyond, you can visit her Instagram @meadowlarkstudiosjw.
