Overton Park Junior Open

First played in 1947, the Overton Park Junior Open has been a staple of the Memphis golf community for more than 75 years. The event is free to play and open to all golfers ages 7–16 regardless of experience. One of the nation’s oldest kids’ golf tournaments, OPJO lets young golfers experience friendly competition, learn more about the game, and most importantly, have fun.
Eligibility
• Age groupings will be determined by a player’s age as of July 10, 2026.
• Participants must be a minimum age of 7 and maximum age of 16 years as of July 10, 2026.
• Participants must be pre-registered no later than 5pm CDT on July 11, 2026.
• The field is limited to the first 160 registrants.
Qualifying Round
• All registrants will play a qualifying round on Monday, July 13.
Flights
• Flights are based on qualifying round gross scores.
• Players will be assigned to flights in five separate age groups for both boys and girls: 7–8, 9–10, 11–12, 13–14, and 15–16.
• There will be eight players per flight.
• Rounds for the 7–8 year old players will be played on holes #1 through #7. All other age groups will play 9-hole rounds.
Tournament Rounds
• The three-day match play tournament will begin on Tuesday, July 14, 2025. Learn more about match play from USGA >
• Half of the field is eliminated each day, and the champion of each flight is determined on Thursday, July 16.
Awards Ceremony
• The winner and runner-up of each flight in all age brackets will receive awards following the conclusion of each final match on Thursday, July 16.
