Bumble Bee Atlas Community Science Workshop

May 16 @ 9:30 am 2:30 pm 30

Some bumble bee species are disappearing—and we need your eyes and skills to help protect them. Join us for a training workshop for the Bumble Bee Atlas, a community science project aimed at gathering data needed to track and conserve bumble bee.

During this indoor and outdoor field workshop, you will be introduced to bumble bee ecology and conservation and how to participate in the Bumble Bee Atlas as a community scientist. You will learn how to catch, photograph, and identify bumble bees in the field. Together, we’ll search the site for bumble bees and learn how to tell them apart from other bees.

We still have a lot to learn about Southeastern bumble bees, so we need all the help we can get to document where they occur and what habitats and plants they are using.
