Public Tour: The Life of Jesus Christ—In Art: A Docent Tour with Kaitlyn Curry

November 20 @ 6:30 pm 7:15 pm CST

Step into the sacred story of Jesus Christ as told through the visual language of centuries past. In this special docent-led tour, Kaitlyn Curry—an art student and passionate museum guide—will lead guests through the Brooks Museum’s medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque galleries, unpacking how artists from different eras depicted pivotal moments in the life of Christ. From annunciation to ascension, you’ll explore not only the canon events of Christianity, but also the evolution of artistic expression and symbolism.

Kaitlyn shares, “I chose this theme because I believe old stories still matter—and the works that tell them are foundational to everything we love in modern art. My hope is that visitors come away with a deeper respect for these pieces and the stories they carry.”

Featured works include Carl Gutherz’s Light of the Incarnation (1888), among others that blend craftsmanship, faith, and history in rich and resonant ways.
