Spring Break!
Update: the Chalk Art Festival has been moved to Thursday, March 13 due to cold temps and high winds on Wednesday.
Mark your calendar for this coming Wednesday, March 12, which is the return of the Brooks Museum of Art’s Spring Break Chalk Art Festival. There’s no better excuse to spend a beautiful day in the park: grab some chalk and spend the morning creating, then head over to the Memphis Zoo for the afternoon (making sure to visit the newly re-opened Stingray Bay), and wind up your day with a visit to Rainbow Lake Playground!
Spring Break is always bustling in Overton Park, so we’re working together to make it easy for you to enjoy all of Wednesday’s events. Rather than bringing your car to the park and searching for parking, you can park your car at Overton Square garage and ride the Memphis Hop shuttle to the park! The cost is $2 per person roundtrip, and children 4 and under ride for free. CASH ONLY. Signs will be posted at Overton Square and Overton Park indicating exact pick-up and drop-off locations.
Shuttle stops within Overton Park include Overton Park Ave. & Kenilworth for those visiting the Memphis Zoo, and Kenilworth & Morrie Moss Lane for those attending the Spring Break Chalk Festival at the Brooks Museum. The shuttle will pick patrons back up at these locations to return to the Overton Square garage.
The shuttle will run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12. We’d love for you to take advantage of it–lose the parking headache and concentrate on having a great time!

Co-Motion Studio will provide playful fun through hula hooping.
Hula hoops will be available for sale. Bright & colorful chalk will be available for sale (set of 12) for $3 or feel free to bring your own.
