Park Fun Day and Science Fair 3/25
You’re invited to a free park fun day and science fair on Sunday, March 25 from 10:00 to 1:00 at East Parkway Pavilion! Join us for a morning of fun and nature-related activities, including:
- Our annual Science Fair, which gives you the chance to meet the researchers who are using the Old Forest as a learning lab
- The first of several mini-BioBlitz events, hourlong walks through the Old Forest in which we try to identify as many species as possible using iNaturalist (11:30 AM)
- The International Society of Arboriculture’s spring tree climbing competition
- Badminton, cornhole, giant parachute, Jenga, and other games
- MEMPopS and Memphis Mojo Cafe trucks
- A chance to chat with Conservancy staff at our booth
You’ll also have your first opportunity of the year to purchase our 2018 shirts,* which depict Yvonne Bobo’s “Rhapsody” gateway to the Old Forest. The design was a collaborative effort between Yvonne and MCA student Oziel Juarez, who worked with us last fall on the bold “HEY!” signs for the park pedestrian safety campaign.
No RSVP is necessary, and you can come and go whenever you like. Hope to see you there!
* T-shirts are also available to members of our Roots giving society ($240 or more annual donation). Click here to learn more.
