Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are critical to keeping Overton Park clean and beautiful! Here are a few ways to get involved:

  • Volunteers are always needed to pick up trash. Just bring your bags, gloves, and grabbers and go for a walk. The most affected areas are usually along the areas where the park abuts major roads like East Parkway and Poplar Avenue.
  • Become a Volunteer Ranger to contribute regularly to the park. A minimum 2hr shift per month is required. Learn more here.
  • Watch our event calendar for upcoming public volunteer days.
  • Most of our group volunteer days are part of a corporate sponsorship program. Companies can sponsor a week in Overton Park for $1,000, and we’ll hang a special banner up and host a company volunteer event. Click here to learn more.
  • Consider joining our invasive plant removal crew. Led by Bill Bullock, this team meets throughout the year (but especially in winter) to remove harmful non-native plants like Chinese privet, English ivy, and Japanese honeysuckle from the Old Forest. Read more about Bill’s work here, and if you’re interested in learning more, contact us at info@overtonpark.org.
