Inspired by Color: Fall Forests and the Science of Leaf Change
Join us for the last Trek of the season! In this Trek, we’ll explore the transformation of deciduous trees as they prepare for winter. Learn how trees protect their delicate tissues, the key chemicals that create the rich palette of colors, and the unique hues that define different species.
Whether you’re a nature enthusiast or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of the season, this program will deepen your understanding of the relationship between trees and their environment.
We invite you to join us in celebrating the beauty and science of autumn!
Trek surfaces may include paved road, limestone gravel trail, and Old Forest natural trails with uneven surfaces.
Registration will open on this page one week before the program.

Overton Park Conservancy is the nonprofit organization that has been caring for Memphis’s central green space since 2012. With the generous support of our community, we work each day to make the park a beautiful and welcoming place for all Memphians, as well as a valuable source of urban habitat for wildlife.
The Conservancy must raise roughly 85% of our budget each year from people like you who care about the many things Overton Park has to offer. A gift of any amount helps us maintain and improve the park.
