September 19th: Who Runs the World? Squirrels!
(No, but really: the Eastern Gray Squirrel has been named in the top 100 of the World’s Worst Invasive Species)
Squirrels aren’t just cute and entertaining: they’re one of the most successful urban wildlife species. Join this month’s trek to learn about the history of squirrels in cities and the ingenuity that allows them to thrive in our human-modified ecosystems.
This one hour program is best suited for adults and adolescents. Participants can expect to walk on some of the following surfaces: paved road, paved trail, gravel trail, and mowed grass.
Registration will open on this page one week before the program.

Overton Park Conservancy is the nonprofit organization that has been caring for Memphis’s central green space since 2012. With the generous support of our community, we work each day to make the park a beautiful and welcoming place for all Memphians, as well as a valuable source of urban habitat for wildlife.
The Conservancy must raise roughly 85% of our budget each year from people like you who care about the many things Overton Park has to offer. A gift of any amount helps us maintain and improve the park.
