Southeast Corner Day of Service

Overton Park is getting a new space, and we need YOUR help to dream big about the future! But first, we have to clean it up…

The southeast corner of Overton Park has been used as a City vehicle maintenance facility for the past century. Now that the City services have moved to a new location, a part of the space will return to parkland under Overton Park Conservancy’s management. We’re excited to welcome the community into the space and imagine what we could see and do there. We’re planning to focus on a greenhouse bay and the surrounding area, exploring some pop-up programming over the next few months.

First, we’re starting with several clean-up days to make the space safe and usable for events. And that’s where you come in!

Saturday, November 11, 8:00AM – noon
281 E. Parkway N., Memphis, TN 38112 (near the corner of Poplar and East Parkway, driveway just south of the fire station)
Drive through the gate, park in the lot to your left, and walk left to the greenhouse furthest back (closest to Poplar Ave.)

Join us for a volunteer work day and help us clean out a greenhouse bay and the area surrounding it. This activity is suitable for ages 12 and up. Wear closed-toed shoes and bring water and work gloves if you have them. Lunch will be provided at noon.
