#901LoveYourPark Litter Pickup Challenge

To celebrate National Public Lands Day, on September 24-26, Overton Park Conservancy is teaming up with Memphis Transformed, Memphis Parks & Neighborhoods, and Volunteer Odyssey to remove 5,000 pieces of litter from our parks.

We’re using a new tool to help us reverse the trend of litter. The Litterati app will help us capture more litter pollution data, create better prevention strategies, and allow you to track your impact. Can you pick up 50 pieces of litter over the weekend and document it in the app? The top five volunteers will earn prizes, like gift cards to Chef Tam’s Underground Cafe, Tamboli’s, and Babalu, 901 swag from We Are Memphis, and a litter pickup toolkit to help you keep up the good work. To participate:

1. Download the Litterati app and create your user profile
   1. iPhone users
   2. Android users
2. Join the #901LoveYourPark challenge using the code: 901PARKS
3. Pick up and tag at least 50 pieces of litter using the app. Oh and be sure to have fun!

Pro Tip: You can pick up more litter when you work the buddy system. One captures the images while the other picks up. You can move even faster when you photograph all the litter and upload the images at the end of your pickup.
