Join Overton Park Conservancy and friends in Discovery Week! Daily activities to spark curiosity, activity, and creativity the during Memphis-Shelby County Schools Spring Break, March 10th-16th.

SUNDAY (3/10): Forest Scavenger Hunt @ 2PM
Spark curiosity as you use your senses to explore Overton Park with us.
Age range: 6-10 year-olds (Registration required; opens March 1st)
MONDAY (3/11): Preschool Story Time @ 10AM
Start the day with stories and songs in a Story Time lead by a Librarian from the Memphis Public Libraries
Age range: 3-5 year-olds (Registration required; opens March 1st)
TUESDAY (3/12): Bird Blitz @ 4PM
Come learn how to use your eyes and ears to identify birds and get a peek into their not-so-secret lives in the canopy of the Old Forest.
Age range: 8-13 year-olds (Registration required; opens March 1st)
WEDNESDAY (3/13): Wednesday Walk @ 4PM, Rainbow Lake Kiosk
Join us for a casual social stroll around the Old Forest. The route is a 1.4 mi accessible loop in the park, starting and ending near the Rainbow Lake Playground. Leashed dogs are welcome.

THURSDAY (3/14): Nature Art Craft @ 4PM
Come out for a bit of creative inspiration in the park. We’ll bring the art supplies, you bring the imagination!

FRIDAY (3/15): Ride & Roll @ 4PM, Rainbow Lake Old Forest Gateway
Bring your family, friends, and favorite ways to ride and join us for a casual roll through the park and roll-themed snacks afterward! Commute Options Memphis will share safety tips and info on appropriate gear.

SATURDAY (3/16): RiverRoots Event: Tree & Book Giveaway from 10AM-2PM, Greensward
Close Discovery Week with CLEAN Memphis, Literacy Mid-South, and local partner organizations in a Tree Giveaway and water-themed recognition of World Water Day 2024! There will be food trucks, music, and activities for the whole family. Presented by International Paper.

Overton Park Conservancy is the nonprofit organization that has been caring for Memphis’s central green space since 2012. With the generous support of our community, we work each day to make the park a beautiful and welcoming place for all Memphians, as well as a valuable source of urban habitat for wildlife.
The Conservancy must raise roughly 85% of our budget each year from people like you who care about the many things Overton Park has to offer. A gift of any amount helps us maintain and improve the park.
