Art History 101: Impressionism and Post-Impressionism: Late 19th-Century Art
October 31 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Impressionism will be surveyed from its beginnings as a group of obscure artists in Paris to its popularity as a world-wide phenomenon. We will see how innovations in both the production of paint and theories of color perception would inform the radical experiments of Impressionism, and the even more radical forms of picture-making carried out by Post-Impressionist painters like Seurat, Cezanne, and Van Gogh.
